Condolences
I am so sorry to learn of Janet's passing. Her kind and joyful ways and her great sense of humor all come to mind when I think of her. The world was such a better place for her being in it and now a light has gone out. My sincere condolences to her family and close friends.
I was blessed by God to have Janet as part of my life, her kindness and generosity can't be measured. You will be sorely missed.
Janet, you were such an inspiration to me and everyone you touched during your life. You always left a smile and encouraging word wherever life took you. The world will miss you so much, and UB will never be the same. Love and joyful travels on your peaceful journey.
How very fortunate indeed, for those of us who were given the opportunity to spend even a small amount of time with dear sweet Janet on our walk down the road of life. My heart remembers her always.
Janet, you were and forever will be a beautiful person, an angel on earth and now, most certainly in Heaven. I’m sure that the Lord has placed you in an honored seat at His table, although I picture you popping up and down to greet others, especially those who were treated unfairly at times in their earthly stay. I am forever blessed to have known you.
With love, Jo Plunkett
Janet was easily the most important person to me outside of my family. I met her as a lost junior at UB in career service and she was funny, welcoming, and most of all, compassionate. After a series of meetings, I applied and entered a master's program where she was my assistantship supervisor. We had so much fun together and we stayed close ever since. I am so hopeful I can be half as influential as Janet with my own students at UB. I will miss Janet but her spirit and selflessness are forever with me.
I am honored to say that Janet was among my closest and dearest friends for 30 years. She always thought of others before herself. Her kindness, generosity, caring, and positive nature made this world a better place. She will be missed by so many who had the privilege to know her. She added a richness to my life. She showed me how to live a fuller life and die with dignity and grace. Her career and her volunteer work touched many people who will remember the mentoring and caring she so readily gave to them. She will live on in the hearts of others.
I remember how Halloween was Janet's favorite holiday. How she loved decorating for it and hosting great Halloween parties.
I loved her enthusiasm for all the books she read. She was in our book club and at meetings, she just bubbled over with her enjoyment while describing the plots and settings of the books she enjoyed.
I will miss her. She put so much energy into helping others - church and volunteer activities as well as friends. It is too bad she didn't have longer to enjoy life and her retirement.
I had the pleasure of being friends with Janet through my dear sister Teresa who introduced me to her yrs back. Janet was one of the sweetest ladies I have ever known even at the end she reached out to me and tried to comfort me when she was suffering herself. I am blessed to have been her friend I will cherish the memories of her, she trulely was sweet on the inside and out!
