Obituary of Leora Jean Buddenhagen

BUDDENHAGEN- Leora Jean "Lee" died peacefully at Beachwood LTC Facility in Amherst, NY on October 1, 2016 at the age of 81. Beloved wife of the late Theodore Buddenhagen of Williamsville, she is survived by her brother Ted (Doris) Zander, her sister-in-law Sally (Jim) (Buddenhagen) Nelson along with nephews Geoff and Mike Zander, Brian Nelson and niece Diane Nelson. Lee was born in Buffalo New York, attended Buffalo Seminary High School and was a graduate of Syracuse University with a degree in Teaching. She worked as an Art Teacher for the Buffalo Schools and continued to pursue her love for art well into retirement as a member of the Williamsville Art Society. Lee and her husband loved to travel and attend the Theater. They attended performances at Studio Arena Theater and the Shaw Festival for many years. She had a great desire for knowledge, was known to be an avid reader, engaging in discussions with her book clubs and spiritualist friends. Her love for animals, especially her cats, and the local wildlife, squirrels and birds became a great comfort to her in her later years. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday morning, October 6th 2016 at 10 o'clock at The Chapel at Forest Lawn Cemetery of Buffalo. All are welcome to attend and celebrate her life.
