Condolences
I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Zenia. She was a remarkable woman. I've only known her a short time. She would tell me stories about her life with her husband Carl, the kids, and the friends in her life. She loved to travel. At one point she swam almost everyday. She loved picking ripe items out of the garden. She had an unmistakable love for dessert. Zenia, you will be missed. I'll keep your family in my prayers.
Dear Carl, Catherine, Leslie and Arpita: I am so sorry for your loss. She was such a profound, positive influence on my life, I will be forever grateful. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Peace- Sue Dickie Mohler
First...My condolences go our to Carl and his family. We all, at Calvary, know how Zenia's loss will hit Carl. They were an inseparable couple, always dedicated and loving to each other.
Several years ago our church put on a Christmas pageant called "The 10 Little Angel Band". Zenia took on the role of musical director instructing the children on the songs for the event. She did a fabulous job. On the day of the pageant they sang their little hearts out knowing every word and tune. The event was a great success, largely due to the dedication of Zenia doing what she loves. I am sure the children have great memories of the pageant.
The Oshiek's were a constant presence and help at the Carillon Concert Series with Zenia selling ice cream and Carl getting the TV ready for viewing of the carillonier in the tower. This past Wednesday was the first concert they were not present and the staff and audience missed them greatly. The TV screen was blacked out in memory of Zenia.
Zenia's oboe performances at Calvary were always enjoyed as well as her role as a vocalist in the soprano section of the choir.
Her talents as a seamstress were well documented by the lovely suits and other clothing items she would wear. I still enjoy the scarf she knitted for me.
May Perpetual Light Shine on Her and may God watch over her family.
Rest in peace, Aunt Zenia. We love you.
I do not remember how many times we played together with Erie County Wind Ensemble, Cheektowaga Symphony and American Legion Band. You were always the most cheerful oboe player I performed with and you were always friendly and positive. Minako and I miss you a lot and remember your smile, kindness and wit forever. Minako and I wish you a peaceful rest. Seiichi
