Carol H. Grieco – 85 – ATHENA Award finalist, retired real estate professional and advocate for Buffalo.

On Wednesday September 4, 2019, Carol H. Grieco, loving wife of late John Grieco, mother of 4 children, and supporter of all things that are Buffalo, passed away after a short illness at the age of 85. 

Carol H. Grieco, age 85 of Amherst NY, was born to the late Gordon Dexter Handy and Helen Bartlett Handy .

Carol was born April 13, 1934 in Marblehead MA, attended the University of Massachusetts where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She built a family and a career over 50+ years living in Williamsville. In 1972 Carol entered the real estate industry where she built a remarkable 40 year career, primarily working for Hunt Real Estate as the manager/coach of the Williamsville/Clarence office, which became the leading branch in the state, not just within Hunt, but all real estate companies in NY in terms of unit sales. Carol is a member of the Mayflower Society, DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution), a past Athena Awards Finalist, member of the Amherst Historical Society, 20th Century Club, Junior League of Buffalo, and former member of the Board of Directors of Canterbury Woods. Despite her hectic schedule, family, friends and church were Carol’s passions and Carol was one of the proudest ambassadors for the City of Buffalo. 

Carol Grieco, preceded in death by her husband John P. Grieco, is survived by her 4 children, Andrea and life partner Vic Robertson of Lake Forest IL, Jeff and wife Bonnie of Dayton OH., John and wife Angela of Los Angeles CA., Joel and wife Beth of West Hartford CT, 9 grandchildren Allison, Christopher, Ryan, Lauren, Jason, Brian, Alexandrea, Alex, Julia and 7 great grandchildren, Shyla, Madeline, Lyla, Michael, Emery, Christopher and Leonardo.

A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2019, at 10:00 AM in Calvary Episcopal Church, 20 Milton St, Williamsville, NY 14221.
