George once told my son Nick a story of his own youth.
Apparently, as a youth, George was captivated with western star Tom Mix to the point of identifying himself as Tom Mix. When George first started school, he identified himself as Tom Mix during the first roll call which the teacher duly noted. I don't know how long this identity held but, the school eventually inquired as to who this Tom Mix child was, as no one with that name was registered at the school. Well Tom Mix was busted and George took his place in school.
I first heard of this when Nick asked me who Tom Mix was. I thought it was so funny at the time I heard it, that I almost choked with laughter.
