When I started working for the Board of Education in 1970 as a typist, Ethel was the School Clerk. It took awhile for her to warm up to this young person, but she did. For many, many years after she retired, we kept in touch, I visited her once at Elderwood, but lack of a second car kept me away. We sent each other Birthday and Christmas cards each year and for the last couple of years, I said to my husband (who passed away himself from cancer on August 30th) that she must be sick and can't do the cards anymore.
We had fun times in the office during the summers we worked together. She is now with her Tom and my Tom up in heaven. I didn't realize she hit the 100 mark.
Much love to the family. RIP Ethel
