Obituary of Jerauld O. Panosian

PANOSIAN - Jerauld Ovagim "Jerry" 88, of Williamsville, New York, died Monday, April 16, 2018. Mr. Panosian was born February 26, 1930, in Niagara Falls, New York, the son of Armenian immigrants. He grew up in Niagara Falls and graduated from LaSalle High School in 1948, lettering in football and track. Mr. Panosian served in the United States Air Force for flight training during the Korean War. He received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and MBA from SUNY Buffalo and worked at various engineering firms over his career including Scott Aviation, Bell Aerospace, Union Carbide-Linde, and Praxair. During the 1960s he did rocket engine testing for the Minuteman Missile program. He served on the Williamsville PTA and taught part-time at Erie Community College. Mr. Panosian enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, vacationing, watching sports, coin collecting, and trading stocks. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bea (Bernice L.) (nee Ricketts), of 56 years, his sister, Susan Harmon, and his eldest son, Dr. Jeffrey Ovagim Panosian. He is survived by three children, Dr. Michael (Rene') Panosian of Beavercreek, OH, Karen E. Panosian of Celebration, FL, and Lisa (Mark) Rabbia, of Brewerton, NY, and 4 grandchildren, Stephen (Anna) Panosian, Stephanie Panosian, Gabriella Rabbia, and Gianna Rabbia. A private ceremony was held at Beach-Tuyn Funeral Home, Inc. Interment in Williamsville Cemetery.
