BOX - Harold C., PhD Born August 19, 1925, departed this life March 30, 2018. Husband of the late June (Ruhle) Box; father of Karen (John) McGowan, Gregory (Susan), Geoffrey Box, and the late Kathleen Krycia, Maureen and Constance Box; grandfather of Kerry, Kaitlin, Kathryn, and Margaret; brother of Dorothy Box and the late Lavina (late Neal) Steinbrenner, William (Jean) Box, Marion (late Skip) Regal, and Robert Box. The family will be present to receive friends on Easter Sunday from 6-8 PM at BEACH-TUYN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 5541 Main St., (at Cayuga Rd.,) Williamsville. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday morning at 9:30 in SS. Peter & Paul Church (Williamsville). Please assemble at church. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Harold's memory to Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Box was a cancer research scientist and director of the biophysics department at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo for 56 years, and retired at the age of 86. He was a graduate of Canisius College and the University of Buffalo, he served in the United States Navy during WWII, was a lifelong parishioner of SS. Peter & Paul Church, and was active in St. Vincent dePaul Society.
