Condolences
Ron was one of a kind. He had the gift of making people laugh indeed. I met Ron at Wende Correctional Facility where he was a Lieutenant & I worked in the Powerhouse. One night we matched each other joke for joke for almost an hour. Everyone that heard us was laughing so hard they were almost in tears. Ron was a good man indeed.
In keeping with Ron's sense of humor I heard he ended up with a $12,000 gravestone for $500... His new last name is "Kronkavitch" but for $500 you can't go wrong!!
You know he is laughing over that one!
Ron was a true alpha man. In 1982 his leadership and professional demeanor led correction officers to be fair and honest to start the first local union at Collins C.F. His leadership resulted in fair local agreements. I will always remember this man. God Bless you Ron. Thank you for making our job better.
I remember Ron as a good friend to me and my family. He told so many stories, always making me laugh. Telling me how he loved to fish and hunt.
I also remember one time when he brought his push lawn mower down and I asked him who ran over it, he waved his arms up and said I did.
He also always talking about his grandchildren, he really loved them. He and Lynn also were good to our kids too, treating them like there grandchildren.
He was one of the funniest men I have ever known not only making me laugh, but also Ann and the kids. We will deeply miss him, especially his jokes and his smile.
Lastly even when he was on vacation,he could find Krebzie (see photo).
With our deepest regrets The Krebs Family ( Greg, Ann, Samantha, Ashley, & Robert )
My sincere condolences to Lynn, Family, and Friends. Ron was a good and decent man and a bit of a bug. Me and Ron were working at Orleans CF As Lt’s, I was called to the Capt’s office where I had explain myself on an issue, when finished one of the Captains said you sound you sound just like Lomanto! That was one the best compliments I have ever had! My confidential reliable source informed me that Brother Ron was in Heaven a full hour before the devil knew he was dead! RIP Brother Ron
Our sincere condolences from the La Monte family!
A lot of fond memories from our family gatherings in Bryant!
Best regards to all who came to honor Ronald!

Sorry to hear of Ron's passing, I had the privilege of first meeting Ron when he was a 'Train the Trainer" instructor at the Albany Training Academy in the mid 80's. Later worked with as trip partners at Livingston and again at Attica as Sergeants. Great guy, with a great sense of humor. Many stories and funny times working with Ron. My thoughts, prayers and condolences to Lynn and their children, families and friends.
To Lynn Lomanto it has been over 51 years ago that I met Ron and you, Lynn at Buffalo State College taking a few Elementary Ed. courses there in 1967-1968-He and I were classmates and had a few beers on occasion-he told me that he was deeply in love with Lynn -a girl from NYC and that her father would have a hard time accepting him-now under these circumstances I see his name in the obits but I see that you guys did get together for a life together-what a great story!!Grand kids and all that comes with the joys of being together-obviously we lost touch for the last fifty years so I am sure you dont remember be but I was a very good friend of one of your sidekicks Marlene Gordon from Long Island-I think I have a picture of you two back then wearing falls-fake long hair.Anyways my condolences to you Lynn and family nothing but pleasant thoughts from so long ago-Andrew Baczek '69

So, So sorry I couldn't see Ron before his passing, unfortunatly I am unable to walk due to arthritis at the present time. I always thought of Ron as a brother instead of an in-law. I will always remember fonding, our hours together, from Darien Center to Varrysburg...
My prayers are for The Lomanto Family at this time. Ron is now up in Heaven sittin arround the kitchen table having a glass of His homemade wine with Larry, while Gloria is making them something to eat.,.,.. God Bless you all

My condolences to the Lomanto family. I worked beside Ron for many years, he taught me a lot at the jail, not to mention hints on my wine making. He will truly be missed.
Lynn & family, I have so many great memories of Ron and the great times we had together. As a “new jack” @ Collins CF he took me under his wing and my entire career benefitted from his experience. The laughs we shared on the ballfield ,the bowling alleys, or when we were hunting will always be cherished. Ron will be missed and my thoughts and prayers are with you
Ron was our protector and first teacher growing up. When he tried something we just watched and if it did not hurt him real bad we would then try it. If it appeared to harm him we ran the other way. As we grew up the lessons became less frequent but my thoughts probably were “ what would Ron do in this case” . Our later lives focused and food and drink and trying to remember jokes from “Ron’s top 100 punch lines list”. Any time you could give him just the punch line and he could tell the most hilarious joke or story. And sometimes a punchline went with more than one joke. He always custom tailored the joke to his audience. Yes, I looked up to my big brother, even if I was down in the ground on his account, but I always knew I would be better or stronger when I got up. So I will look to the heavens whenever I have questions and carry on until we meet again.
