Condolences
I met Ann at WSSC in Maryland. She was the only one to go out of her way to help me out in a time of need. She was a godsend to me at that time and one of the sweetest ladies I have ever met. She will definitely be missed at WSSC. From my brief encounter with Ann, I knew she was a gentle soul, for which there are not enough of in the world. She was so special and I am so sorry for her family's loss. I hope you find peace in knowing that she touched so many hearts and her presence here on earth was a memorable one indeed.
I met Ann in 2010. She was always kind to me, and showed me nothing but respect. In my short time knowing her, I could easily see her great maternal instincts. And it was especially evidenced in her love for my son Kadin, her grandson.
She was there for his birth, let us stay with her for a few months during his infancy, and visited him as much as she could before she moved down to Maryland to be closer to him. When she lived in Maryland, she saw him at least once a month and took him to fairs, playgrounds, the zoo, the aquarium, the swimming pool, and countless other fun events. Kadin loved weekends that he was able to stay with his "Grann."
Kadin and I will miss her tremendously.
Rest In Peace Grann.
-Tom Carpenter II & Kadin
Our friendship was relatively recent; we were mothers trying to extricate children from the vicissitudes of life. Ann and I established an immediate bond. Her warmth, kindness and intellectual curiosity made for easy conversation. We exchanged texts, and pics of Kadin. We planned to take Kadin on a European trip--just the three of us.
In a recent phone call, Ann told me: " my children have stepped up to the challenge." She was so proud of her children's steadfast support of her in her valiant fight. She loved you all.
I will always remember her concern for my parents, and the touching note she sent me on my father's passing. I will miss her.
My condolences to the family of this amazing lady. I didn't know Ann personally, but I had to visit the nurse office here at WSSC a couple times. I just think about how concerned and kind she was with my health and she had her own problems. But I pray God strengthens for the family. She will be missed.
My Big Sister Ann - I am deeply sadden that you are no longer here to watch over and take care of us. You have always been our guardian angel and may the Good Lord comfort you in the way you have comforted us and others...
Love,
Your brother Jim.
