WORTHAM - Dan S. August 27, 1922 to March 4, 2017. Born in Franklin, Kentucky, Dan moved to Buffalo as a child. He attended Lafayette High School, then worked at Curtiss-Wright before enlisting in the Army Air Corps in 1942. He was an Aircraft Mechanic in the Eighth Air Force in England. Dan attended U.B. in Buffalo before working as a Senior Field Auditor for Merchants Mutual Insurance Co. of Buffalo. His hobbies included radio control model aircraft and wood working. Dan was a life member of Inner Harbor Yacht Club and was the Treasurer for many years. He is the beloved husband of the late Shirley Hall Wortham; loving father of Fay (Jack) Brautigan and Lee (Julie) Wortham; cherished grandfather of Ian (Fallon) and Alexander (Jennifer) Wortham; devoted great-grandfather of Vann Wortham. The family will be present to receive friends Friday, March 10th from 4-7 PM at BEACHTUYN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 5541 Main Street (at Cayuga Rd.), Williamsville. Friends are invited to a Memorial Service, Saturday, March 11th at 10 AM in the Chapel at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to Glenn H. Curtiss Museum, Hammondsport, NY or to Roswell Park Alliance Foundation.
