Dear Sharon . John and Brian, I wanted to add my sympathies to those of my brothers and mother. (she will write later...) I will always remember Mary as the best cook in the world. She used to make a green bean salad with onion, sour cream and dill which i still make and absolutely love. My sincerest sympathies to you and yours, and as always, I will be thinking of you. I remember the happy times we spent together - Mary, Sherwood, Sharon and our branch of the family - at holidays and barbecues in the back yard. Aunt Mary had a wonderful sense of humor and a calm wisdom on family happenings. I really appreciated the meals that she prepared for us; she sometimes tried out her new dishes on us, and they worked for us, even when we were little people. Later, I admired her service to others, especially the countless dinners she delivered through Meals on Wheels. Rest in Peace, Aunt Mary. To me, of course, Aunt Mary. Although I haven't seen her in many years, I have thought of her often. Mary and Sherwood were two of a kind for me; always nice and happy and comfortable. She played Sherwood's "straight man," which made visiting fun. And she could Cook! With Sherwood gone, I was happy for her that she could be with Stuart. Thank you Mary, for being an Aunt to me, different from parental; a special relationship. Aunts and nephews! (we have these secrets). Rest in peace.
