Condolences
Dear Ann....I didn't know your mother but was saddened to learn of her death. I did know you and of your brothers and that tells me your folks must have been very special people. I think of you often and will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Fondly...and with great memories, Sheila Murphy
Dear Masters Family, My sincere sympathy to you during this time of your great loss. I remember Mrs. Masters as a warm & gracious lady with a ready smile for everyone. She was surely blessed with along life and a large, loving family! Love to you all. Cozy Gorman
To the Dear Masters Family, My prayers and thoughts are with you. This is a very difficult time for you all. When the time comes that we must lose our parents, no matter how well we think that we are prepared, it is always a shock. One thing that helped the Glaser Family when my Mom passed was to celebrate her life. Ever since I read Gert's Death Notice I have been strolling around the old Bannard neighborhood in my mind. What a great place to grow up and what super times we all had. Bike riding, baseball games, picking strawberries, the great Newell St. Apt. construction, kool-aide stands, the McNinch Kids (they got blamed for everything). Hey, how about the cone factory? Will anything beat a stack of hot cones thrown out because they were irregular? Umm! My mouth is watering. Whatever happened to Franke's? I ran into Sonja Pannier when I worked at Roswell and took care of her mother. Your Mom and Ours really were the Generals of the Family. I bet they are up in heaven comparing notes and having a cup of tea. When Susie turned to me after Mom's funeral she said, "You are now the Matriarch" and I said "No, not me I'm too young but you can". We will always be the lucky kids that grew up on Bannard Ave. My prayers are with you with much love and fond memories Mary Louise (Glaser) Dobelbower
A poem for Gert: It was just a cookie we were supposed to bring But now today - it means everything We promised Gert we'd be back But then Mom caught a cold and that was that "We can't see Gert until it's gone, I'll call her and tell her it won't be long" Then came the news we all would dread So I give you Gert this poem instead: Our Lady Of The Towers She came and went in sunshine and showers And we'd say "Look - it's Gert - our lady of the towers" Always well dressed and soft spoken too A woman of style who had time for you Many years she had but no one could call her old That quaint and proper manner covering a heart of gold A glint in her eye that showed her spirit She faced life head on - she never feared it An inspiration to all who passed her way An honor to know her in every way We'll see you Gert in the spring time flowers And remember you always as our lady of the towers
