BARIT - Jerra S. (nee Smith) April 26, 2010, of Clarence, NY, beloved wife of Bruce Barit; devoted mother of Ashley (Evan) Tibbetts and Blake Barit; also survived by sisters JoAn Clark, Nancy Reidy, Lynda Hensley, Penny Woodford, brothers Scott Smith, Tom Rudder, devoted nieces and nephews. Jerra was born the beloved daughter of Jim and Barbara Smith on August 20, 1946 in Boston, MA. Throughout her childhood and early married life, she made her home in Avon, CT and before having children was a physical education teacher and gymnastics coach in Simsbury, CT. In 1988 she and her family moved to Clarence, NY, where they have lived since then. Jerra always put others first and was active throughout her community. Some of her most devoted causes were PTO, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, the North Presbyterian Church choir and hand bell choir, Meals on Wheels and Habitat for Humanity, to name a few. Jerra will always be remembered for her dedication to her family, love of others and strong faith. Flowers gratefully declined. Memorial service and reception will be held at North Presbyterian Church on North Forest Road in Williamsville, NY on Saturday, May 1, at 4 PM.
