Condolences
Dear Pauline, I extend my sincere condolences to you and your family for the loss of your husband and the father of Pete and Paula. Ed was a remarkable colleague at Mill Middle: a solid administrator, a good listener, a dear and trusted friend. His wonderful sense of humor helped modify the darkest of circumstances and made problem solving easier. Working with him and Lyman Root as chiefs stands among the greatest experiences I had in 41 years in education. What a climate they created! I know he has a special place in heaven, for surely it is said of him, "Well done, good and faithful servant." Please know that you are all in my prayers for God's love to give you the sustenance you need during this difficult time. Fondly, Dorothy
Dear Mrs. Firestone, My memories of Mr. Firestone are so sweet to me that when I saw the obituary, all I could say was, "Oh, no." He was a teacher's principal. I always felt that he listened to whatever ideas we had and because he knew we cared about our work, he would support us in our plans. We had the best time at Casey Middle School when it closed in 1983. We were a family and much of that feeling was shared among us because of Ed. I am sorry that I will miss the memorial service. Please know he is in my prayers.
We wish to extend our sincere condolences from Joseph & Trudy McMahon to the Firestone Family.
Pauline, I am so sorry for your loss of one of the finest gentlemen that I ever worked with in Williamsville. He was always ready with a smile, a kind word, or a quip. He was greatly admired by his fellow principals for his words of wisdom, his sense of humor, and his straightforward manner in dealing with issues. Pat and I visited WNY this summer from our home in Knoxville Tn. We were able to attend the WARTS meeting at Fanny's Restaurant where we were able to visit with Ed for a short time. It was such a pleasure to see him, and to joke around with him like old times. Warmly, Ron Seaver
Dear Pauline, My deepest sympathy to you and your family at this time. I remember most recently after Christmas that I saw you with your relatives and great-grandbaby at the Eagle House restaurant. I was there with my son and daughter-in -law. You chatted about moving into a new home to help ease daily health care. You and your husband were blessed with a wonderful life and a wonderful family. Also, please know my son fondly remembers your husband as a friendly and helpful Mill Middle School assistant principal many years ago. Thanks so much for all he did for others. Betty Boguslawski
We at Prestige Maintenance USA wish to offer our sincere condolences to the Firestone Family for their lost.
I was pleased and honoured to work with and under Mr. Firestone at Casey and Mill as well as serving with him on many District committees. He was a teacher's teacher and a true gentleman. He helped young teachers learn to work with children. He helped more experienced teachers to share their Craft. He always had a kind word, a smile, and usually a good quip. There is a piece in the Funeral Service for FreeMasons that states 'May you live respected and die regretted.' I can think of no better eulogy for Mr. Firestone than to say "Thus you were and thus you are." Blessings, Dean
