Mary Enid Jean Chamberlain McGeein was born in
Southgate, London, England to Charles and Gladys.
She had four sisters: Iris, Pamela, Florence and
Patricia. They lived on an estate where her father
was the head groundsman.
At age 18, she enlisted in the British Royal Airforce
during World War II, where she worked in the
hospital's lab.
She then met and married her husband and they
moved to the United States. Once in Buffalo, Jean
became a member of Tally Ho, an English war bride
club. They were all very close and got together once
a month for many years.
Jean and her husband had three children together:
Denise, David, Dennis and Michael, who was like a
son to her. "Samantha", a Pomeranian, rounded out
the family. She has five grandchildren and one great-
grandchild.
Jean worked for many years as a nurses aide
at Erie County Medical Center and Buffalo
General, retiring from both Hospitals.
Jean has always been an avid traveler, visiting
most of the United States and world. She has
attended a Miss USA Pageant at the Donald
Trump Hotel in New Jersey, and recalled seeing
Donny & Marie in Branson, MO. Jeans interests
also included gardening, knitting and crafts
