In the past year I had three real good encounters with Andy. When Andy inherited some of money from his grandparents estate, he was more concerned that it would go to Leanne in the event anything might ever happen, than any thoughts about his own interests. It was personally gratifying that he wanted to see his uncle to address his investment. On another occasion, Andy spotted Linda and I at Barnes and Noble and spent a good while with us to visit. I gave him every comfortable opportunity to excuse himself which he did not apply. Most recently, following an exchange of many text messages Andy and I got together for lunch at Red Robin for his birthday. Every indication suggested he was doing great and I really enjoyed our time together. All this had followed a lengthy period of little contact between us. I looked forward to growing our relationship with anticipation. Looking back I think of the warm feelings of renewal or reconciliation that I felt. As I reflected during Andy's service at Beach Tuyn,of our recent good times together, I was overwhelmed imagining God's great love and his joy as we return to his embrace and welcoming arms.
