Obituary of Lorraine D. Lannon

Lannon- Lorraine D. (nee Metke) of Williamsville NY passed from this life on January 7, 2021 at the age 91.

She was the devoted mother of Lorrie (Brad) Archdeacon, proud grandmother to Gregory R.

(Danielle Klausman) Archdeacon and Daniel M. Archdeacon. She was the loving daughter of the late Nelson and

Lorraine Weigel Metke. Her siblings include her sisters Marilyn (John) Irr , the late June (late LaVerne)

Mueller, Doreen (late Mearle) Bucklaew, and her brother Nelson (Mary) Metke.

In kinder and gentler political times, Lorraine served as the secretary to the supervisor

of the Town of Amherst for both Republican and Democrat administrations from 1961 to 1985.

She became the first woman to be named as the administrative assistant to the Supervisor under

Jack Sharpe. She was also a loyal member of Calvary Episcopal Church for over 70 years.

In addition to her strong commitment to family, Lorraine was an avid cookie baker, talented artist and

crafter. Her cookie-laden care packages won her many admirers in cities and universities

her grandchildren resided in over the years. A Memorial Service will be held

at a time and date to be announced. Flowers are gratefully declined and memorials can

be made to Calvary Episcopal Church or Hospice and Palliative Care Buffalo.
