I was so saddened to read the news about Maureen. We worked together, along with several others, while training for reading teacher positions in the Buffalo Schools. After that year we kept in touch, sporadically. I have nice memories of Maureen: her quiet, easy going personality and her happy smile. She was a thoughtful and caring person. May she rest in peace and her memory be eternal.
I did not know Maureen, but as a man diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin' s Lymphoma, I mourn for her and all who are currently enduing and all who have left us, having fought so bravely and valiantly. There is something about the character of a woman, who looks her foe in the eye and refuses to let it dominate her life. Maureen was no doubt that type of woman. I pray the lord will comfort you during this difficult time.
