Mrs. Vasi, Dave, Chris, Nick

I am so saddened from the passing of Mr. Vasi. Growing up just a couple doors down, Mr. Vasi was a large part of my childhood as a second Father, Teacher and a trusted neighbor. Your Dad was amazingly talented with wood working and I am fortunate to have some of his creations in my home. I am thankful for the life lessons Mr. Vasi has taught me and the fond memories will live on.

Dear Sue & Family. Your Jim, Bob Moscato, Larry Tober and I graduated from Bflo State, then within a couple years, we were all at Maryvale. We were so blessed, and all contributed to a great educational program. Jim was in his element, a treasured department coordinator, sought out by students and staff for an outstanding quality experience you just knew would be great, also making superior, intricate woodwork appear easy - just the best. He treated everyone as a friend, and we sadly suffered heartfelt loss, the last time I saw him, at Penny Tober's funeral. I recall his dad's funeral and fondly helping you-all move to your new home. My deepest sympathy on your profound loss.

I will always remember Jim as friendly person with a smile. I have known Jim since our days at AM&A’s. Jim did a number our projects at our house. Jim was just a great guy. Rest In Peace Jim.

I knew him as Mr.Vasi when he taught Wood Shop at P.S. 51 on Hertel Ave. in Black Rock.That was about 59 yrs. ago. I still

have some of the projects,including a coffee table and a Airplane tie holder.I will cherish them and his memory.A great

Sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Jim Vasi. I had him for two semesters as my woodshop teacher at Maryvale High School 73-74. I still have the chessboard I made in his class along with the electronic slide template he gave me. Furthermore, I had a great memory seeing him on Most Buffalo doing what he enjoyed the most, working with wood creating wooden toys for the children during Christmas time. He was so smooth and skilled. My best to the family during this time. God Bless!

I worked with Jim at Rockler Woodworking. I had a great deal of respect for Jim and his love and knowledge of woodworking. Jim invited me to his home and helped me turn a pizza cutter. It was this time spent with him that he gave me the encouragement to ultimately purchase my own lathe. He was always ready to enthusiastically answer any of my questions. He will be sorely missed.

I was very saddened to hear of Jim's passing. He was a special friend to me for over fifty years. The memories we shared together as teachers and friends will be with me the rest of my life. For myself and all who came into Jim's contact our world was a better place because Jimmy was in in it. Rest in peace my friend I love you.

So sad to hear of Jim passing. He was a great person to know. A great teacher and a wonderful friend to all that knew him I last saw Jim a few month ago when I took a wood working class from him at Rocklers. His patience and gentle ways made everyone fell they had known him forever. My heart goes out to his entire family.
