Obituary of Steven H. Wilson

Steven H. Wilson

Passed away April 7, 2020 after a period of declining health. Born October 24, 1945 in Buffalo, NY, he

was the son of James E. and Margaret (nee McLaughlin) Wilson. Steven graduated from Deveaux Academy

in Niagara Falls, NY and went on to study at Boston University, and received a degree in Business at the

University at Buffalo. He later became Vice President of his family’s company Sonwil Distribution Center. Throughout

the years, Steve enjoyed traveling, sailing his boat on Lake Ontario, skiing at Holiday Valley and many other

areas around the country and Canada. He especially enjoyed designing and building bookshelves and other projects

around his home. Steve was a longtime outstanding member of Lederhosen Ski Club, having been past president,

newsletter editor and active in many other capacities. Steve is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Millicent

“Penny” (nee Handel) Wilson; sister Nancy F. Wilson; brothers Peter G. (Deborah) Wilson and the late Stuart

(Judith) Wilson and cousin Linda (late Henry) Bradley; also survived by brother-in-law Geoffrey (Frances G.)

Handel and many nieces, nephews and other cousins. He will be dearly missed by his many friends and family.

A Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Heart Association

or a charity of your choice.
