Condolences
Teresa and I express our sincere condolences to Dick's family on his passing from this Earth - this Earth that Dick loved so much! We will never forget meeting Dick back in 1996 at Audubon's Allegany Nature Pilgrimage, an occasion highlighted by a hike on the Eastwood Meadows trail where we learned so much from Dick about wood warblers. His gentle manner and willingness to kindly share his extensive knowledge will be greatly missed. We feel privileged to have known this fine gentleman, an advocate for nature and lover of the Earth.
To the family of Richard,
My prayers are with you and your family. Sharing in your sadness as you remember Richard. I have fond memories of Peggy and Richard when I would help them at their home in Wales.
My deepest sympathy,
Diane Dutton
As a long time participant of the Allegany Nature Pilgrimage Dick was a fixture! His kindness and love for all things natural was easily shared to all of us. I was blessed to have met Dick and will miss his presence, as I have missed his wife . Just lovely people who graced our lives.
To the Family of Dick Christensen,
My personal sympathies for the loss of Dick. I recall many enjoyable conversations with Dick at BOS meetings and on field trips. He had a wide range of interest in the connections between the birds and their natural habitats. Copied below is a note I distributed to all the members of the BOS.
Sincerely,
David Suggs

My Dad, Ray Filsinger was a friend of Dick's for some 65 years. I remember back in the 50's and 60's doing family outings with Dick and his family. We have very fond memories of Dick and we know he was much loved and will be sorely missed. Rest in Peace Dick.
