Obituary of Gregory W. Bielinski

BIELINSKI - Gregory W. Age 61. After a courageous seven-year battle with lung cancer, our Blessed Lord called Greg home. He died peacefully on November 9, 2014 in his Williamsville home with his loving wife, Anne, by his side. He was married for 26 years and the loving husband of Anne M. (nee Daniels) Bielinski. Gregory is the son of the late Walter and Mary (nee Siwiec) Bielinski; devoted brother of Eric (Suzanne) Bielinski of Pocatello, ID; brother-in-law of David (KayCee), Mark (late Christine) and Paul (Jaime Vazquez) Daniels. His legacy continues on through his nephews Denton and Colin Bielinski, Nathan, Ian and Seth Daniels and his nieces Sarah and Melanie Daniels. Greg is also survived by many caring aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Although Greg had to retire early due to disability from his position as Regional Technical Support Manager with H&R Block in 2010, he continued to remain active assisting others. He was a weekly driver for both Food Shuttle of WNY and Meals on Wheels for North Tonawanda for almost five years in spite of receiving continuous chemotherapy treatments. Also, for the past 15 years, he faithfully participated in the annual Ride for Roswell. Greg was a man of many talents, which included home brewing beer, painting, gardening (especially hostas) and cooking. He loved all kinds of music and truly enjoyed playing the blues on his guitar. He also read any kind of murder mystery or detective novel. Greg made all of the travel arrangements for many wonderful vacations to Bermuda, France, England, Alaska, Canadian Rockies and, last year, he and his wife went to Chicago to celebrate their 60th birthdays and 25th wedding anniversary. He was a warrior and would not let his disease define his life or interfere with his goals. The family will be present and receive friends Friday from 4-8 PM at BEACH-TUYN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 5541 Main St. (at Cayuga Rd.), Williamsville, where prayers will be said Saturday morning at 9:45, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Gregory the Great Church at 10:30 (or to stream on-line: www. stgregs.org). We will miss his wonderful smile and generous heart. Flowers gratefully declined. Memorial donations in Greg's name can be directed to either Roswell Park Alliance Foundation, Elm and Carlton Sts., Buffalo, NY 14263 or on-line at www.roswellpark. org/giving. Any donations made in Greg's memory will go directly to Dr. Adjei's Lung Cancer Research involving the OmniSeq Target Gene Testing. Greg was committed to supporting this valuable new and cutting edge research.
