John D. Milligan
1924 - 2018
Condolences
I'm sorry this message comes so late, but I was a student of Professor Milligan at SUNY at Buffalo and he was the reason I decided to major in History. He was by far, the best lecturer I encountered while at school. I currently work at a Historical Center in Charlotte County, FL and came across a WWII story that reminded me of one of the stories your father used to tell. Well that led me to googling his name and I came across the sad news of his passing. I just want you to know what a wonderful teacher your father was and how he profoundly influenced the life choices I made. I am sure I am only one of many students that feel this way about Dr. Milligan, but I am sorry he is gone and I am sorry I didn't get a chance to say thank you to him in person.
Dear Polla,
I am so very sorry about the Passing of Your Father.
I was Your Spanish Teacher at Bennett H.S. All those years ago.
You were an excellent Student and a Very Talented Vocalest. I have thought about YOU, wondering how Your Career developed.
Please know that You and Your Family are remembered in my prayers. God Bless You All.
I haven't lived in Buffalo for over 30 years, still read the local paper occasionally, but almost never check the obituaries. For some reason I did this weekend.....and saw that Professor Milligan had passed. He was one of the bright, inspirational lights that guided me through my undergraduate years in the turbulent early 70s. I think of him often and fondly.
